Grand Forks Police Chase Juvenile in Early Morning Pursuit

GRAND FORKS, ND (nomadnews.i234.me) – In the wee hours of Friday morning, Grand Forks saw a flurry of police activity off South Washington Street as law enforcement responded to a dramatic incident involving a 17-year-old driver.

Around 12:30 a.m., officers were summoned to the area behind Red Ray lanes, where the juvenile driver attempted to evade a traffic stop and then fled on foot. The situation quickly escalated, prompting a substantial police presence in the vicinity.

Sergeant Drees of the Grand Forks Police Department revealed that the episode originated from an attempted traffic stop by the Grand Forks Sheriff’s Department. The juvenile’s attempt to escape on foot spurred a comprehensive search effort, involving K9 units and a drone team.

After a tense pursuit, law enforcement apprehended the juvenile hiding behind a house in the area of Campbell Drive and Park Drive. The individual was taken into custody without further incident.

As the suspect is a juvenile, no additional details have been released regarding the incident at this time.
